a creatine from gaspari nutrition called size-on. from personal experience gained 10pounds of muscle from it in 30 days. also if your $$ a whey protein would be optimal. together they are way more effective.
References :
personal experience

Avoid supplements that have not been around for longer than 3 years. I learned this phisophy from an Australian strength coach who recommended not trying any supplement until it has been around at least 3 years to pass the test of time. This will make your life much easier and help you avoid all the marketing hoopla in the latest fitness and bodybuilding magazine. If you follow this rule, you will discover only a small handful of supplements still standing. Here are the ones you should not go with out: a high quality multi-vitamin, fish oil capsules, powdered creatine and a protein powder. These products will cover your nutritional basis for health, healthy body composition, strength and muscle mass.
References :
shapefemalebody.com

well assuming you know everything you need to know about resistance training and building muscle (max weight you can handle for 8-12 reps, however many sets of each exercise) and you know how to train each muscle you are working on (chest, abs, core, shoulders, obliques, lats, upper back, lower back, biceps, triceps, forearms, etc.) im going to recommend using cell-tech which is made by the company muscletech...but thats if you want something with creatine in it...creatine adds water weight to your body, and enhances your muscles by adding a significant amount of water to them...so make sure you are drinking ALOT of water, as you can get very easily dehydrated...once you stop taking creatine, those muscles will only retain about 25% of the max size they attained...you must work hard to retain anymore muscle mass than that...if not using a creatine based supplement, then i recommend nitrotech, also by muscletech...this works especially well, and does not have creatine...a key part of building muscle and maintaining it is intake of proteins and BCAAs (Branched Chain Amino Acids)....nitrotech has both...and it works great for me...good luck!!!
References :
I have been working out and bodybuilding for several years now. i went from being 5'8 and 155 pounds, benching 100 pounds at the most, and doing bicep curls with 25 pound weights to being 180 lbs and benching 300 lbs and doing bicep curls with 40 pound weights

Avoid the steroids and HGH at all costs. Stay natural and get a protein supplement. My favorite is Syntha-6 made by BSN. However, Muscle Milk, any EAS protein product and any Optimum Nutrition protein will do. I prefer a "blend" of proteins, as opposed to all whey, although whey is GREAT for right after a workout.
If price is a factor, get a cheap, Body Fortress brand of whey at Wal Marts. It's cheap, has BCAA's and creatine and glutamine added. The downside is that it tastes like crap!
